Sunflower Field and Lakeside Senior Photos

On this friday afternoon in late August, Mikaylin and I met up at a beautiful sunflower field just north of Wausau Wisconsin. When Mikaylin reached out to me, she said that her ideal location involved flowers and water- so right away I was on a mission to find the best locations possible. After some searching and asking in Facebook groups, the sunflower field was brought to my attention! I knew that would make for some really unique senior photos. Additionally, I did some searching for parks here in Wausau, WI and found one that I thought would be perfect- Memorial Park. What made it perfect was the clear view of Rib Mountain State Park and the sunset would also be in the background!

In the morning, it started as a sunny day but got cloudier as it went on. I kept looking out the windows in hopes that the sun would be peeking out.. I had no luck up until about an hour before the session! The sun finally would peek out in between clouds.

When we met at the sunflower field across from REI Engineering here in Wausau, Wisconsin, we walked a bit to some of the best locations for photos that I had scouted out earlier in the day. The location did not disappoint, and the golden hour sunshine was the cherry on top! After some fun adventuring and photographing at that location, we headed to Memorial Park which is in Schofield, Wisconsin.

The sun started to hide behind the clouds, but still the sky was filled with beautiful colors. The water reflecting those colors made for some really dreamy senior photos- exactly the vibe that we were both going for.

Mikaylin is a 2025 senior at DC Everest High School in Wausau Wisconsin. I was so happy with how the senior pictures turned out, and she was too! What a blessing it was to be her senior photographer.
